"UWS is always looking for beneficial ways to help our players achieve the best out of their soccer career," said UWS Chief Operation Officer Roberto Aguas. "The Techne Futbol app does just that. Training outside the team format is crucial for a player's development. This app makes that extra work more efficient and fun at the same time.”
Techne Futbol was founded by former professional soccer player and U.S. Women's National Team alum Yael Averbuch. She also currently serves as the Executive Director of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Players Association.
"We're honored for Techne to be a resource that UWS teams can use to further support the development of their players," said Averbuch. "Through this partnership, we're excited to work directly with UWS to continue to foster a competitive environment for players all over the country to hone their skills.”
"I have been following Techne’s journey, and after connecting with Yael Averbuch, it confirmed my belief that this partnership will be beneficial to our league,” said UWS Executive Director Stephanie Cleaves. “As a world class athlete, Yael designed the app specifically with the professional player in mind. This will be a great tool for our college players and aspiring pros to take their technical skills to the next level.”
