METUCHEN, NJ - A fourth team based out of Illinois has been added to the Midwest Conference of United Women's Soccer (UWS). Located in the city of Chicago with headquarters in the South Side, Chicago KICS Football Club is the newest addition to UWS. The expansion side joins Ladies Steel City F.C (Joliet, IL), Chicago Mustangs (Hoffman Estates, IL) and MSC Peoria (Peoria, IL) as new UWS teams from the Land of Lincoln. Once primarily based in the state of Michigan, the Midwest Conference is now divided between the three states of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
“We welcome the addition of the Chicago KICS to United Women’s Soccer,” said UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara, Jr. “The player pool in the Chicago area has proven to be deep and talented as any in the nation. The KICS organization checks all of the boxes on the operational side and they will definitely make an immediate impact in 2021.”
"We're ecstatic to be a part of United Women's Soccer," said Chicago KICS FC Director of Coaching Joshua Pichardo. Pichardo will also be the first-ever Head Coach of the Chicago KICS FC UWS First Team. Ross LaBauex will serve as his Assistant Coach while Diego Garcia (Goalkeeper Coach) and Deana McCarthy (Strength & Conditioning) round out the coaching staff.
